CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed Dr Anitha Anandhi, attached to the Govt Hospital in Kallakurichi in Villupuram district, and Dr M Shyamala Devi of Apollo Children’s Hospital in Chennai, to showcause as to why they should not be prosecuted for giving false information to the court in the matter relating to the medical examination of a four-year-old female child, who had been allegedly sexually abused by a woman teacher and headmistress of a private school in Kallakurichi. The first bench comprising Chief Justice MY Eqbal and Justice TS Sivagnanam gave the direction today, while passing further interim orders on a public interest writ petition from A Ramalingam, a human rights activist in Soundaravallipalayam, alleging that AKT Matriculation School class teacher Boshiya and principal Lasi Bosco had sexually abused the child. As directed earlier on December 23 last year by the bench, the CB CID filed its final report along with an affidavit seeking some more time. The report said that the child was subjected to medical examination by Dr Anandhi and was also examined by Dr Devi and they filed reports. The child was also examined by a team of doctors. The report submitted by Dr Anandhi and Dr Devi contradicted with each other as also with the report given by the team of doctors. The CB CID said that Dr Anandhi had admitted that her opinion and the team of doctors opinion differed and that the opinion of the latter was correct.
