HYDERABAD:The Langerhouz police on Thursday arrested six persons in connection with circulating fake currency near Bapu ghat. Police recovered 14 fake thousand rupee notes and original currency worth Rs 30,000 from them.Police said they nabbed Mohammed Chhobe Shaik, a native of Jarbabapur village, Kaliya Chowk, Malda district, West Bengal when he was exchanging the fake Indian currency at the JRK Present factory outlet at Bapughat.G Sridhar, inspector, Langerhouz police said Shaik and his associates Rapsangani, Mohammed Joharul, Safiqul Islam and Mohammed Enamul Haq used to circulate the fake currency in the twin cities on the instructions of Mohammed Israil, who is the gang leader.He said all the accused came from West Bengal and stayed at Mohan lodge at Tilak road in Abids.As per instructions of his gang leader Israil, Chhobe Shaik came to Langerhouz area for exchanging the fake currencies. When he was exchanging a fake thousand rupee note in a sweet shop, police arrested him. During interrogation, the accused further informed the remaining gang members along with Israil were staying at Mohan lodge. Police raided the lodge and apprehended the other five.Mohammed Israil confessed he had procured the fake Indian currency notes from one Inamul, a native of Malda in West Bengal, who used to procure the same from Bangladesh. He exchanged the fake currency in Hyderabad and other metropolitan cities with assistance of his gang members.Earlier, he had come to the city twice and exchanged nearly Rs 2 lakh fake currency. This time also, he procured Rs 1.5 lakh fake currency in thousand rupee notes from Inamul and came to exchange it in the twin cities.
