New Delhi: A freelance journalist Prabhakaran has been arrested for clicking pictures of sensitive installations on a tourist visa in Sri Lanka. The journalist is being questioned in Colombo. The Indian High Commission has been informed of the developments in the case.
Junior Vikatan, the magazine for which he contributes said that, "he is not an employee but contributes occasionally" and added that they he had not informed them about his visit to Sri Lanka.
Sri Lankan authorities say he wrote a few articles on LTTE chief Prabhakaran, and was clicking photos of an army patrol in Pooneryn, Kilinochchi when arrested.
The authorities are being cautious ahead of March UN Human Right council vote.
