New Delhi: The Central Government has told the Supreme Court that by September 14, it will bring in a notification which will make a warning against smoking mandatory in movies.

The government has said that at the beginning, interval and end of movies there will be a warning tag saying 'Smoking is injurious to health'. The Central government has told the court that it will permit smoking scenes to be exhibited in films.

The I&B ministry had earlier this month asked the Censor Board to ensure that a film having smoking scenes also carries two 20 second anti-tobacco warnings voiced by the actor who is seen smoking in the film.
