With only a day left for the Emerging Kerala investors’ meet, Kochi is on the last round of preparation and review. The officials have finalised the procedures for issuing photo identity badges to delegates.
In view of the security arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit, only delegates with valid photo identity badges will be allowed to take part in the inaugural function to be held at the Le Meridien Convention Centre on Wednesday, the officials said.
Registered delegates will be able to collect badges from special counters at the domestic and international terminals of the Cochin International Airport (CIAL) on arrival, from Tuesday, said officials of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), the nodal agency for the event.
They can also collect badges from the hotels - Le Meridien, Ramada, Trident, CGH Earth, Holiday Inn, Dreams Hotel, Abad Atrium, Abad Plaza and Hotel Presidency - from Tuesday.
Delegates can collect their passes at the registration counter at the Le Meridien Convention Centre between 9 am and 5 pm.
Officials from the Special Protection Group (SPG) arrived here on Monday.
As part of the security review, the police have carried out a detailed security drill in the city. The coastal police have also carried out security review. The SPG team has taken over the security at Le Meridien Convention Centre, other venues for the PM’s functions and Taj Vivanta at Willingdon Island where the Prime Minister is expected to stay.
