BELLARY: Former health minister B Sriramulu will meet his friend and former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is cooling his heels in Chanchalaguda jail in Hyderabad, on Tuesday to seek his advice on whether or not to contest elections on a BJP ticket. As pressure is building up on him to declare whether he would contest the Bellary rural seat as a party candidate or as an Independent, Sriramulu said on Monday that he would announce his decision soon after his meeting with Janardhana Reddy.Reddy was arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths in August over allegations of illegal mining. The byelection has been necessitated following Sriramulu’s resignation as member of the Assembly after being indicted in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining.He kept everybody, including the state party leaders, guessing on whether he would contest on a party ticket or as an independent candidate. The party’s attempt to persuade the disgruntled Bellary minister, through observes has not yielded results so far.
