VIJAYAWADA: A thorough revision of the subjects has what helped Immani Srivani secure the top rank in the PG Medical Entrance examination for the year 2012. “Vigorous revision is important for any exam,” says the topper, who admits she has never fancied her chance of topping the exam.Srivani, who scored 179 out of 200 marks in the entrance examination, wants to become a radiologist or study general medicine. She did her MBBS in GSL Medical College.A Sathish Kumar of the Osmania Medical College, who got the same marks as Srivani but has been placed second, has chosen to become a gastroenterologist.“I have become a doctor to serve the less fortunate people,” he told Express.P Kavitha from the Santhiram Medical College, Nandyal, of Kurnool district, secured the third place in the PG entrance test.As many as 12,996 students applied for the PG entrance test and 12,690 took the exam.BDS ResultsThe Dr NTR University of Health Sciences released the final year BDS (Old Regulation) results of the examination held in January and February 2012. Three candidates passed in first class and 97 in second class. Eighteen students passed in radiology and oral medicine, 20 qualified in the oral and maxillofacial surgery, 21 qualified in periodontics, 2 in conservative dentistry and 1 in pedodontics.As many as 17 got through the orthodontics and 11 qualified in prosthodontics.Break-up of the marks has been posted on the university websiteRevaluationRevaluation can be requested by paying a fee of Rs 2,000 per subject before April 7. A committee appointed by the university will revalue the answer scripts, according to controller of examinations Dr D Vijaya Kumar.
