THRISSUR: A total of 80 Plus-I and Plus-II students were expelled from Holy Grace CBSE School in Mala on Thursday alleging that they spoke Malayalam in the classroom.  The school authorities had imposed Rs 1,000 on 103 students. But only two students remitted the fine. Around 21 students are staying at school hostel. It was reported that when the students entered the classroom on Thursday, the authorities had asked those students who had failed to remit the fine to leave the school. “Only two or three students spoke Malayalam in the class. But the school officials had imposed fine on all of us,” one of the students, who was expelled from the school, said. “English is the official language of the school. We have imposed fine only after warning them many times,” school chairman Raju Davis said.
