Stung by criticism, IUML threatens media

KOZHIKODE: Muslim League general secretary E T Muhammed Basheer has said that the party would consider taking legal actions against media levelling baseless accusations.Addressing the media after a state secretariat meet of the party convened at the League House in Malappuram, Basheer said that the recent actions of various television channels after some revelations in the Ice cream Parlour case were not befitting to journalistic ideals. Basheer  conceded that the media had a right to correct the party if it had committed any mistake but cautioned that such attempts should not exceed a certain limit. He also said that the party would consider legal action against Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan if he continued making baseless accusations outside the Assembly. He said that the party has viewed the recent media propaganda against P K Kunhalikutty as against the Muslim League and added that they would embark on a counter campaign against this from November 15.
