Gurdaspur: A suspicious object has been found at a bus stand in Punjab's Gurdaspur. Suspecting it to be an explosive Punjab Police officials have called a bomb disposal squad.
Punjab Police Inspector General (Border Range) Ishwar Chand said the suspicious object was spotted by a local resident in Factory Mohalla, which is an isolated and sparsely populated area of Gurdaspur city. The area is on high alert because of an attack by three terrorists at a police station in Dinanagar area of Gurdaspur district on July 27.
The strike by a group of three Pakistani terrorists on Monday saw the death of seven people including Superintendent of Police (Detective) Baljeet Singh and three home guards. All the terrorists were gunned down in an almost 12-hour long encounter with the police.
