HYDERABAD: The Telangana Congress Steering Committee has handed out a warning to the Congress leadership that it will be forced to advance its action plan on Telangana if the state government does not stop using its police forces to beat up students and try all means to disrupt the Sakala Janula Samme.
Though the action plan has not been officially announced, central to it is resignation of ministers and MLAs after September 30 to hasten the process of formation of Telangana.Steering Committee chairman K Keshava Rao said: "We may have to advance our action plan. The plan is ready and we are all one on its implementation," he said but did not elaborate on the plan. "I do not have to tell you what it is. We will implement it," he told mediapersons here on Monday.
The Telangana Congress leaders said they would go to Delhi in a final attempt to tell the party leadership pointblank that the time had arrived for bifurcation of the state and that they were in no mood to wait any longer. "Though we have not yet decided on the date, we will go to the nation's capital soon. After that we will not go to Delhi. Delhi leaders will have to come to Hyderabad to announce Telangana state,'' Bhongir MP Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy said."We strongly condemn the police action. We warn the chief minister against using police force against students," Keshava Rao said. They also warned the government against imposing power cuts only in Telangana, where the number of agricultural pumpsets is more, on the pretext that coal supply was affected by Singareni miners' strike. "Power cuts should be uniform in the state. If they try to cause hardships to farmers in Telangana, the government will have to blame itself for the consequences," Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar said."The remarks of the chief minister and Andhra leaders will only provoke our people and will not serve any purpose," Peddapalli MP G Vivek said.
