Babu alias Sheikh Habib has done several films in the Telugu film industry. The actor is now active in making videos on YouTube. He belongs to the Kadiri area in the Ananthapuramu district of Andhra Pradesh. He uploads videos of traditional art forms in the surrounding regions. He gained fame with his role in the film Sasavula Chinnamma Katha. He was also seen in films like Potugadu, Ok Chinna Mata and Bharateeyadu 2. The actor now owns a YouTube channel named Babu Kalabrundam Kadiri. The content largely focuses on the traditional stories of Chinnamma. While talking to Local18, Babu said that about 1000 Sasavala Chinnamma stories have been recorded on his channel. In the Rayalaseema region, the Sasavala Chinnamma Kathas are organised for funerals, programs and Vaikuntha memorials. The villagers and people from the city listen to it with great devotion. During festivals, when the people of the village are very happy, the Sasavala Chinnamma Kathas are arranged for the fairs. Artists in the area around Kadiri are in great demand for plays.
He created the channel on YouTube during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019. “In it, we upload traditional stories, Chinnamma stories, entertaining stories, devotional juice and other things. I created YouTube 2021 in Corona time. I have uploaded my plays. It has now been monetised. Remuneration will be like an old age pension for me," said Babu. He also has some short films under his belt. The video follows the traditional rules of Chinnamma Katha.
Babu is currently 58 years old. The actor believes that many people watch the dramas through YouTube as well. He started the YouTube channel to give opportunities to traditional artists. Several Katha groups perform but Babu belongs to none, the actor added. People from neighbouring areas around Kadiri said that they willingly participated to encourage Sasava Chinnamma Kathas.
