HYDERABAD: The proposed 48-hour rail roko by the Telangana Joint Action Committee is set to start from Saturday morning all over the Telangana region. With the rail roko, TJAC plans to break the rail transportation link between south and north to make the Centre understand the gravity of the situation in Telangana.According to TJAC leadership, the South Central Railways has nearly 1500-km tracks in Telangana and rail transport would be paralysed to create impact on the state and central governments. The rail roko will begin at 6 a.m on Saturday and end on September 25 evening.People and Telangana activists from the nearest villages are expected to reach tracks and stay there.Throughout the day, cultural programmes would be held on the tracks, including Vanta Varpu and Ata-Pata-Mata programmes.TJAC leaders said they have prepared an action plan to make the programme a success with people to act as in-charges for rail roko in all Telangana districts.TJAC had previously given rail roko call three times in the last six months.TRS, BJP MLAs, CPI(ML) New Democracy leaders are also likely to take part in several important centres.A chart containing Do’s and Don’ts has already been circulated to TJAC cadres at village level.
