British govt had decided to change rule for qualifying for permanent residency.

New Delhi: In London, a high court has asked the British Government to honour its original commitments made to Highly Skilled employees, most of whom are Indians.

The ruling came after the British Government decided to change the rule for qualifying for permanent residency from four years to five years with retrospective effect.

The new ruling means these employees will now qualify for permanent residency after four years as offered originally. The judge while giving the ruling acknowledged the hardships being faced by the workers.
