THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Geraldine Fraser Moleketi, Global Director of Democratic Governance, UNDP, and a former cabinet minister of South Africa, will arrive on a two-day visit to the state on March 9. During the visit, Moleketi is likely to study Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s popular Mass Contact Programme and measures to ensure transparency in governance like round-the-clock webcasting of the functioning of the CM’s office. On Friday, Geraldine Fraser Moleketi will deliver the keynote address at a seminar on ‘Innovations in Governance for Inclusive Development:Kerala Experience’ to be held from 2:30 p m to 5 p m in the Mascot Hotel. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the seminar. The seminar is being organised by the Centre for Development Studies. John Samuel, Global Democratic Advisor and Head of Global Programme on governance Assessments, UNDP, New York, will also participate in the seminar. Planning Board vice-chairman K M Chandrasekhar will preside over the function. CDS director Pulapre Balakrishnan will welcome the gathering.
