Uttarkashi: In a tragic incident, a bus carrying tourists from Russia plunged into Bhagirathi river on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the bus died in the accident and a foreign national has been reported missing, according to Uttarakhand Police.
The mishap occurred at Dharali, about 2 km away from Harshil, when the bus with at least 13 Russians on board, was on its way from Uttarkashi to Gangotri, police said. Senior officials have rushed to the spot.
The accident occurred on Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway at about 2 this afternoon. Bhagirathi is one of the tributaries of the Ganga.
