A village head was arrested on Monday with 150 blankets meant for the Maoists from a village under Khaira police station area in Bihar's Jamui district, a police officer said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police recovered 150 blankets from the house of Harni Panchayat mukhiya Mahesh Tanti in Harni village which he was supposed to deliver to the Maoists, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Munger Range Sudhanshu Kumar said in Munger.
Tanti was arrested after seizure of blankets and charged under provisions of the Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act and other provisions of the law, the DIG said.
