As many as nine matches, including the two main events, took place at the WWE Payback 2014 held at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on June 1. This was the second event under the Payback series, which started in 2013.
In the high-octane first main event, super star John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt in the Last Man Standing match to end the feud. The event's second main match saw The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose) defeat Evolution (Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista) in a No Holds Barred six-man tag team elimination match.
