BANGALORE: The Bangalore Metropolitan Rail Corporation may not have thought through all aspects of the project, but are confident to make “improvisations” to ensure that the Reach I of the project acts as a good curtain raiser for the entire project.  For Reach 1, the frequency of trains is to be 10 minutes during peak hours (8 am to 10 pm) and 15 minutes during off-peak hours (6- 8 am and 8- 10 pm).  BMRCL Managing Director N Sivasailam said that on October 20, the trains will be open for commercial use after 4 pm. Responding to concerns about the last service to Baiyappanahalli, which is at 10 pm, he said that BMRCL can extend the last service up to 11 pm, based on the passenger density and requirement.  Stating that there would be an equal fare for all passengers, he said that Bangaloreans can use the Metro card, which would give them at least 15 per cent rebate each time they travel, would be available at all stations. “We are also releasing a limited edition 3D card as part of the inauguration. Only 10,000 of these cards would be available at a cost of Rs. 1000 and a fare value of Rs. 500,” he said.
