CHENNAI: Over the years, Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME) has been playing an important role in the socially relevant projects that have positively impacted people in and around Tamil Nadu.One more feather in that effort is the YAA, an award that hopes to recognise and encourage talented and deserving students in the fields of arts, education and sports.RCME presents this award every year in the month of November.For the year 2011, awards were presented to A Balaji (Sports – Fencing), V Lokesh (Arts – Drawing and R Isaiarasan (Education).The chief guest for the evening was international squash player, Dipika Palikal.Dipika recently scaled new heights by moving to the 25th position in the April 2011 rankings.This is the highest by any Indian woman player in the history of squash.She is also the reigning junior Asian Champion.
