Youths assault TV actor

BHUBANESWAR: A group of youths went berserk and assaulted a TV actor near Rasulgarh Square, barely a few hundred metres from the local police station, on Friday night.Narendra Patra, the actor, was returning from a local dhaba when the incident occurred. When he objected to a drunk youth sitting on the bonnet of his car, he was abused. Soon the youth’s friends joined him from inside the dhaba and smashed the vehicle.That was not all.Patra was not spared either by the youths.The scene of the crime was barely a few hundred meteres away from Mancheswar Police Station and a PCR van was in the vicinity when the actor was assualted.No one has been arrested yet.AUTO DRIVER ASSAULTEDAn autorickshaw driver was brutally attacked by two persons who made away with the vehicle during the small hours of Friday. The driver, Nimai Charan Sutar, suffered injuries on his head and is receiving treatment. Police said his vehicle was reserved by two youths from Bhubaneswar Railway Station.On way to Janla, the two used a sharp weapon to attack Sutar.Leaving him injured, they fled with the autorickshaw.
