Zee chief Subash Chandra seeks anticipatory bail
This comes a day after Delhi Police asked him to join investigations in connection with the alleged Rs 100 crore extortion bid.

New Delhi: Zee Group Chairman Subhash Chandra on Wednesday moved an anticipatory bail plea before a local court, a day after Delhi Police asked him to join investigations in connection with the alleged Rs 100 crore extortion bid by two editors of his channel.

Zee Group had sought anticipatory bail for both Chandra and its managing director Puneet Goenka, according to Chandra's lawyer Vijay Aggarwal. Delhi Police has served a third notice to Chandra and Goenka, his son, asking them to join the probe on December 8 after the arrest of the two Zee Editors.

"An anticipatory bail application has been moved only as abundant precaution as my clients want to join and cooperate in the investigation," Aggarwal said. Chandra told the police on Monday that he was prepared to appear before them in connection with the probe.
