Netflix has responded to recent reports regarding the release date of popular Korean actor Yoo Ah In’s anticipated drama titled Goodbye Earth. Originally set for a 2023 debut, the series faced delays after Yoo Ah In tested positive for cocaine, ketamine, marijuana, and propofol during police investigations. Korean news outlet Sports Chosun has now indicated that Goodbye Earth is scheduled for release on April 26. However, Netflix has clarified that no final decision has been made.

“At present, nothing has yet been decided. Once the release date has been decided, we will inform you through an official statement,” reads the official statement, as reported by Soompi.

In February 2023, Yoo Ah In faced police questioning for propofol use, with his agency UAA pledging full cooperation. Subsequent investigations revealed positive drug test results prompting advertisers to withdraw support and impacting his upcoming projects, including Netflix’s The Match and Hi.5. His detailed hair analysis reportedly later confirmed the presence of different types of drugs, resulting in Yoo being replaced in Hellbound season two.

According to Naver Entertainment, the actor is facing trial for allegedly administering four types of medical narcotics, including propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remimazolam, a total of 181 times under the guise of anaesthesia for cosmetic procedures.

Moreover, he is accused of stealing prescriptions in someone else’s name about 40 times, destroying evidence with the help of an acquaintance, and using marijuana.
