How To Make Healthy Porridge Laddus For Kids At Home

A woman named Meerabai who lives in the Dadampalayam area of the Viluppuram district, Tamil Nadu prepares laddus at home for her children using simple and nutritious using small grains. We often eat porridge, in many different ways. Meerabai makes porridge laddus for her children to give them the nutrients they need.

You can make these laddus and can store them for weeks in an air-tight container to prevent them from getting soggy. Meerabai also suggested making this millet or porridge laddus twice or thrice a week then your children will be definitely healthy and will also get all the nutrients in the form of a snack.

Ingredients

Millet

Chickpeas

Semolina flour

Sugar

Cardamom pods

Peanuts

Ghee

Instructions

Step 1: Wash the millets and chickpeas

Step 2: Let it get dry and grind it into a fine paste

Step 3: Powder the sugar and cardamon pods

Step 4: Take a pan and add semolina flour

Step 5: In another pan heat some ghee

Step 6: Pour everything into a big bowl and start kneading them

Step 7: Make a small balls out of it

You can also make badman laddus for kids that are healthy and tasty at the same time

Ingredients

Almonds – 1 cup

Dried or desiccated coconut – 1 ¼ cup

Cardamom powder – 2 tsp

Grated jaggery – 1 ¼ cup

Roasted nuts (pistachios or walnuts) – 1 tbsp

Dried raisins – 1 tbsp

Melted ghee – 1 tbsp

Instructions

Take a pan and dry roast the almonds for a few minutes till the aroma comes.

Add desiccated coconut and cardamom powder and dry roast until it is a light golden colour

Put in a grinder and make a mixture

Now add grated jaggery into the grinder and mix until it is powdered consistency

Then add raisins

Add ghee and make small balls out of the mixture
