Aditya Roy Kapur Reveals He Initially Wanted To Become A Cricketer: 'I Did Not Want To Get Into Anything Showbiz'
Aditya Roy Kapur revealed how he initially wanted to become a cricketer. He mentioned that he worked as a video jockey even though it did not appeal much to him.

Before Aditya Roy Kapur made his way into Bollywood, he was a popular video jockey. He made his Bollywood debut in 2009 when he starred in London Dreams. In a recent interview, the actor revealed how he did not want to get into movies but rather wanted to become a cricketer.

Speaking to Kareena Kapoor on What Women Want, Aditya Roy Kapur revealed how he got into acting even though he did not want to. He mentioned how he started his career as a video jockey even though that was something that did not appeal much to him. Kapur said, “I started off not wanting to get into anything showbiz. I wanted to be a cricketer like half of the country, but that didn’t work out very well. I just fell into acting. I was a video jockey (VJ) even though that was not something I was drawn to.”

Kapur mentioned that even though being a video jockey was not on the list, he continued doing that because it was a ‘fun job.’ He talked about how he learned acting during this stint. He also said that he did not want to go for auditions but he went out of ‘guilt.’ The actor continued, “Acting just happened because I was semi-famous. I used to get calls for auditions that I wouldn’t want to go for; some I would go out of guilt because I didn’t really grow up wanting to be an actor.”

The actor mentioned how he ‘fell in love’ with acting only after his first film. He shared the screen with Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan in his debut film. After London Dreams, he starred in popular films such as Action Replayy, Aashiqui 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Okay Jaanu, and Kalank to name a few. He was last seen in Gumraah. He was also seen in The Night Manager which recently got nominated at the International Emmys. The actor has Rakt Brahmand and Metro… In Dino in the pipeline.
