Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Jigra, which is set to hit the big screens on October 11. As part of the film’s promotional tour, Bhatt recently wrapped up an event when she encountered an elderly admirer she seemingly knew from before. In a heartwarming moment, Alia spotted the man and immediately recognised him with a joyful exclamation, “Are kaise ho aap, itne dino baad?” (How are you? It’s been so long!).
In a video that has since gone viral, the two share a brief but warm exchange. Alia, with her hands joined in respect, chatted with the elderly man before promising, “Hum milenge fir” (We’ll meet again soon), and then headed to her car. Fans online couldn’t help but gush over the interaction, praising the actress for her humility and grounded nature.
One user commented, “Agree or not, she’s so down to earth. She’s got no heroine-wala attitude.” Another added, “Alia Bhatt being the stunner as always.” Yet another pointed out the sweet nature of the exchange: “Sardaar Ji didn’t ask for a selfie, and she stood for him because he respects women.”
While some netizens speculated that the man in question might be Tajinder Singh Teji, the bodyguard of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, his identity could not be confirmed.
Apart from the heartwarming moment, social media was abuzz with comments on Alia’s striking resemblance to her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor. Fans noticed her hairstyle and compared it to Neetu’s signature look. One user shared, “She’s looking exactly like Neetu Kapoor!” Another added, “Alia’s hairstyle is just like Neetu mam’s—so cute!”
For those unaware, Alia Bhatt married Ranbir Kapoor, the son of Neetu and the late Rishi Kapoor, in April 2022. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Raha, in November 2022.
On the work front, Jigra will see Bhatt paired with Vedang Raina, marking his theatrical debut after starring in Netflix’s The Archies. The film is written and directed by Vasan Bala and is produced jointly by Dharma Productions and Alia’s own banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions.
