Chris Evans Shares REAL Story of How He Landed In Deadpool & Wolverine: 'Ryan Reynolds Texted Saying...'
Chris Evans revealed Ryan Reynolds personally reached out to the Captain America actor for a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine Spoilers Ahead: Those who watched Deadpool & Wolverine over the weekend would agree, it featured a rather shocking cameo. We are talking about Chris Evans making an appearance. The actor reprised his Marvel role — no, no, not Captain America. The actor appeared in the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-headlined MCU film as – spoiler – Fantastic Four character Johnny Storm aka Human Torch.

In a new interview, Chris Evans revealed Ryan Reynolds reached out to him personally and asked him if he would be interested in reprising the Fantastic Four role. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the Avengers star said, “Ryan’s a buddy. He just shot me a text saying, ‘Listen, might be a long shot, but would you have any interest in reprising something from 20 years ago?’ I said, ‘Oh my God! Of course.'”

“Honestly, Ryan might be the only guy that I would’ve done it for because he’s just got the Midas touch. His self-awareness makes him almost invincible. He makes the joke before the audience gets a chance to make the joke, so if you’re going to revisit a character and you have to find a way to make it work, Ryan’s humor makes just about everything work, so you feel an automatic sense of safety,” he added.

Evans’ Johnny appeared in the Void in the film. He joined Deadpool and Wolverine in their mission to return to TVA. However, his extended cameo came a bloody yet hilarious end. Also seen in cameo roles in the film were Jennifer Garner, Wesley Snipes, Dafne Keen, and Channing Tatum.

Deadpool & Wolverine is a massive hit with the fans. The film has also set a new record at the box office. Forbes reported, Deadpool & Wolverine has collected a jaw-dropping $205 million in the US alone. The film’s budget, as reported by Variety, is $200 million before prints and advertising. Deadpool & Wolverine has collected $438.3 million at the worldwide box office.
