'I Believe I will Get Justice, Truth Shall Prevail', Says Rhea Chakraborty in Tearful Video

Rhea Chakraborty has broken her silence after an FIR was filed against her and her family by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's father. In a tearful video message, the actress has said that she will not be commenting on the allegations against her as the matter is sub judice.

"I have immense faith in God and the judiciary. I believe that I will get justice. Even though a lot of horrible things have been said about me in the electronic media, I refrain from commenting on them on the advice of my lawyers as the matter is sub judice. Satyamev Jayate. The truth shall prevail," Rhea said in the video.

In a surprising twist in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, his father lodged a police complaint against his rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and six others, including her family members, accusing them of abetting the actor's suicide.

Krishna Kumar Singh (74), a resident of Rajiv Nagar locality, Patna, had been maintaining a stoic silence over the tragic death of his 34-year-old son on June 14.

An FIR was lodged on the basis of the bereaved father's complaint on July 25 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including those pertaining to abetment of suicide and fraud.

Aday after Sushant's father filed the FIR in Patna, Rhea filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking transfer of investigation to Mumbai.

Sushant's family lawyer Vikas Singh said that the late actor's family was not satisfied with the way Mumbai Police were investigating his alleged suicide case, and therefore, got an FIR registered in Patna. Singh accused Rhea of having befriended Sushant in May, 2019 with a clear intent to use his good contacts for the advancement of her own career.

Sushant's former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande has lent her support to the FIR filed by his father in Patna and said if the family has lodged it they must have proof.
