The Hindi singing reality show Indian Idol has gained immense popularity in the country for producing some top singers in the Indian entertainment industry. Recently, Indian Idol Telugu also came into the limelight. In a past episode, a guest participant named Laxmi amazed the judges and the audience with her mesmerising voice and singing talent. According to reports, Laxmi’s performance was loved by all the judges and music director Thaman reportedly chose her for a song in the much-awaited Pawan Kalyan-starrer, OG. The reports suggested that Thaman even paid an advance amount following her stage performance.
As per a report by Times Now, Laxmi hails from the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. She is a guest performer in the popular show. Her recent performance earned her a standing ovation from all the judges of the show. The show is judged by Thaman, Vijay Yesudas and Geetha Madhuri.
While talking on the show Thaman praised the efforts taken by the organisers of the show in bringing folk music into the limelight. He said that this indigenous form of music must be upheld and we must never forget our roots. “Indian Idol is a great platform for artists like Laxmi to get a chance to perform and get the exposure they deserve,” he added. The show streams every Friday and Saturday on Aha.
OG will be directed by Sujeeth with D.V.V. Danayya being the producer. The film tells the story of a gangster named Ojas Gambheera, to be portrayed by Pawan Kalyan. The film is also set to feature popular faces like Emraan Hashmi, Prakash Raj and Priyanka Mohan in leading roles.
