Jr NTR's Devara Aims To Reach Maximum Audience With Extended Theatrical Release: Report
Devara will not be available on OTT until 50 days after its release, which will provide audiences a chance to experience the film for at least 7 to 8 weeks.

Devara Part 1, featuring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, is already creating a buzz ahead of its big screen release on September 27. Following the theatrical release, the majority of the films get OTT debut within 4-5 weeks. However, the upcoming Koratala Siva directorial will not be available on digital platforms until 50 days after its release. This will provide the audience a chance to experience the movie for at least 7 to 8 weeks in cinemas.

Earlier, Kalki 2898 AD ran for almost eight weeks, which helped it reach a wider audience. Following their footsteps, Devara makers are keen to replicate this success and ensure that the film captures maximum attention in theatres.

As per Aakashavaani Instagram post, “Makers of Devara going for a proper 50 days theatrical window. Film will not have a digital release before 50 days of theatrical release. So, watch it in theatres.”

As of now, no specific OTT platform has been attached to the project, but there are speculations that the movie might release on Netflix. However, makers are yet to comment on this.

Before its official release, Devara has already been breaking records with its impressive advance ticket sales. According to a report by Sacnilk, over 10 lakh tickets have been sold so far. Interestingly, expectations are high, as this number might increase even further when the film finally debuts on bis screen. Not just in India, but the action-packed film, featuring Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, is getting tremendous response in the USA as well, where more than 75,000 tickets have been sold.

Recently, Jr NTR thanked the Telangana government for approving extra shows and ticket price hike. He wrote on X, “My heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable CM, Sri Chandrababu Naidu garu, and Honourable Deputy CM, Sri Pawan Kalyan garu of the Andhra Pradesh government for passing the new G.O. for the Devara release and for your continued support of Telugu cinema. I’m also thankful to the Cinematography Minister, Sri Kandula Durgesh garu.”

Set during the 1980s and 1990s, Devara Part 1 stars Jr NTR in dual roles as both a father and son. Saif Ali Khan steps into the shoes of the main antagonist and Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead. Interestingly, the Koratala Siva directorial will be released in two parts.
