Kim Kardashian has landed in Mumbai with her sister Khloe Kardashian for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding. The reality show star, who reached India on Thursday night and was welcomed with much fanfare. As they made their way to the iconic Taj Mahal hotel, they were escorted in a quintessentially Indian manner. Women clad in saris led the way, carrying thalis with marigold flowers and a diya, while a flautist played a beautiful melody ahead of them. In the video that is going viral, Kim can be seen briefly stopping to take pictures of interesting decor elements. As they were greeted by hotel personnel, Kim and Chloe reciprocated with a namaste. They received red tikkas on their foreheads, an traditional Indian gesture, and warmly thanked everyone for the hospitality. Check out the videos:
In another video now going viral on social media, Khloe uploaded on her Instagram, Khloe and Kim can be seen enjoying an auto rickshaw ride in rain-soaked Mumbai.
Kim’s airport photos and videos went viral, and she also took to Instagram Stories to post snippets from her first night in India. In one story, Kim flipped the script on Indian paparazzi by snapping them swarming her car at Mumbai airport. Unfazed, she gave a shout-out to India with a cheeky “Hi.” Later, she shared a video of her and Khloe enjoying a traditionally Indian welcome.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding ceremonies will start on July 12, with the auspicious Shubh Vivah or wedding function. The dress code is Indian traditional. July 13 will be the day of Shubh Aashirwad and the dress code is Indian formal. July 14 will be the Mangal Utsav or the wedding reception and the dress code is Indian chic. All these functions will be held in BKC.
