Maheep Kapoor Says Shanaya Kapoor Was 'Traumatized' When Her Debut Dharma Film Was Shelved

Actor Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor was all set to make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Bedhadak. The film was announced in 2022 but it was, later, shelved by the makers. In the latest season of Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, Shanaya’s mother Maheep Kapoor revealed how her daughter was traumatized as the movie was shelved.

Speaking to Karan Johar on Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, Maheep Kapoor spoke about how shocked Shanaya Kapoor was when Bedhadak was shelved. She was also addressing the distance that had come up between her and Seema Sajdeh in the same conversation. She said, “Shanaya’s film didn’t start. She was traumatized. You had to intervene.”

Maheep also addressed how COVID-19 impacted her and how she was also diagnosed with diabetes later. She continued, “I was going through my own madness in my head. I had exposed myself to my old parents, and Shanaya (after contracting COVID-19). We all fell like nine pins. Understand the trauma that I was going through after Rekha (Maheep’s house help) had passed away when doctors were saying that my old mother needs to go into hospital.”

The conversation took place when Karan invited Maheep and Seema to his house to address the misunderstanding that had come up between them. The two friends accused each other of not being there for each other. Presenting her side of the story, Seema said, “I didn’t need her to be there for me at that point, please understand. I needed to be there for her, and she didn’t allow it. That is my grouse with her.”

In another episode, Maheep is seen with Shanaya, Khushi Kapoor, and her son Jahaan. At the dinner, Shanaya expressed how excited she was that she would start working on films again. Shanaya said, “I am grateful for Pablo (her pet dog). It is a fact. And I am looking forward to start a shoot again.”

Shanaya was all set to make her Bollywood debut with Karan’s Bedhadak. Directed by Shashank Khaitaan, she was supposed to make her debut alongside Gurfateh Pirzada, and Lakshya. The movie was shelved. She will, now, make her debut alongside Mohanlal in the Telugu-Malayalam film, Vrushabha.
