From small-budget gems to big Bollywood blockbusters, some of the best films in the recent years hit the theatres in 2016. It was a year that saw a transition of sorts with the cinephiles accepting genuine performances than just make-believe. Pink wasn’t meant for the faint hearted. Referred to as the best courtroom dramas that have been released in Bollywood in the recent past, Pink was a stark reminder of what any Indian women could be subjected to irrespective of her location. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Pink wasn’t just a significant film, but also excellently executed. It was a massive leap for Hindi cinema.
