In an exclusive conversation, Rajkummar Rao spoke about what growth means to him as an actor. He shared his thoughts saying that he likes to explore new things

Rajkummar Rao has come a long way in his career. He has made a niche for himself through his powerful acting skills. The actor has given many hits including the recently released Stree 2. The horror-comedy refuses to stop and has been creating history at the box office. In a conversation with News18, Rajkummar Rao, known for his versatility and intense performances, opened up about the challenges he faced when signed Srikanth. He confessed that he was initially quite scared when he took on the role.

Rajkummar Rao spoke about what growth means to him. He said, “No, it is important to grow as a human being and also as an artist. You know. And that can only happen when you try something new. When you challenge yourself, you work out of comfort zone. That’s for me growth as an actor. When I look back to my earlier days to now, I think I have like… also I feel very scared before starting any new film. When I signed on Srikanth I was very scared that how to do it, how to make it different something new for myself and audience. But that’s where I think you explore, you be desperate to lookout for ideas because you want to be sure before starting a new film. So I think for me growth is that when you try to explore new things in life, not be in that same comfort zone. And as a person more you travel more you lead, the more you interact with people, more you learn about experience, you grow as a person.”

Srikanth is a Hindi biopic directed by Tushar Hiranandani featuring Rajkummar Rao, Alaya F, Jyothika and Sharad Kelkar in important roles. The movie opened to positive reviews from viewers and critics. But, despite that, the film does not seem to be making much money. It maintained a steady pace on days 5, 6 and 7 by earning Rs 1.65, Rs 1.6 and Rs 1.45 crore.

Srikanth is based on the real-life story of an industrialist, Srikanth Bolla, who despite being visually impaired defied all odds and achieved success in life. It will also highlight his academic struggles as a visually impaired person who graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The industrialist is also known for employing unskilled and differently-abled individuals. Rajkummar Rao’s role as Srikanth has earned him much praise. The film is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.
