This means that people who missed watching Shaitaan in theatres can now watch the film in the comfort of their homes.
Released on March 8, Shaitaan was presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films and Panorama Studios. It was produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak and directed by Vikas Bahl. It is a psychological thriller in which ‘Shaitaan’ R Madhavan takes charge of Ajay Devgn’s daughter.
Shaitaan also marked Jyotika’s first Bollywood film in 25 years. She made her acting debut with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, in Hindi, back in 1997. She then explored the Tamil film industry and made a mark for herself in the South. She returned to Bollywood in 2001 for the bilingual film Little John.
Shaitaan received positive reviews from all and earned a little over Rs 140 crores at the box office in India.
Previously, the director of the film, Vikas Bahl also talked about the film’s success and thanked Ajay Devgn. “I’ve to be thankful to my crew and cast, especially Ajay Devgn, who was a producer on the project and could have easily insisted on playing the powerful title role. But he generously stepped back to let Madhavan take centre-stage. It takes an actor of exceptional generosity and confidence to do that. But I must say Ajay is exceptional as a father trying to protect his children from evil. I would like to see Shaitaan as an emotional family drama, rather than a supernatural thriller. Madhavan has brought in elements into his character that we never thought of. It is an incredible performance,” he said as quoted by Bollywood Hungama.
