In his Instagram story, Sidharth posted a photo of himself standing respectfully with folded hands in front of Captain Vikram Batra’s statue. Along with the picture, he penned a heartfelt message: “Remembering Captain Vikram Batra (PVC), the real Shershaah, on his 50th birth anniversary. I’m grateful to have had the privilege of portraying him on screen. His bravery and spirit continue to inspire us all.”
For those unfamiliar with Captain Vikram Batra’s legacy, he was an Indian Army officer who laid down his life during the Kargil War, and his heroic actions earned him the highest military decoration in India, the Param Vir Chakra. ‘Shershaah’, a film that documented his life and bravery, became a major success, with Sidharth Malhotra receiving immense praise for his portrayal of the war hero. The film not only highlighted the valor of Captain Batra but also served as an inspiration for audiences and generations to come.
Directed by Vishnuvardhan, ‘Shershaah’ also marked the first on-screen collaboration between Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. Their on-screen chemistry resonated with viewers, and their relationship blossomed off-screen as well, eventually leading to their marriage.
As for Sidharth’s professional front, the actor was last seen in ‘Yodha’, a high-octane aerial action drama. He is reportedly in advanced talks to headline ‘Race 4’ alongside Saif Ali Khan. In addition, Sidharth is currently evaluating several exciting projects, including an action-packed film and a love story.
