Rumours have been going around that BJP leader and actress Smriti Irani is making a return to the small screen with the popular show Anupamaa. Smriti, who became a household name with her portrayal of Tulsi Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has remained away from television, focusing on her political career. However, recent speculation suggested she might make a comeback. But she has refuted all such claims.

TellyChakkar has shared a post on its Instagram handle in which it mentioned “Smriti Irani To Have A Special Cameo In The Show Anupama Post Generation Leap?”. Quickly reacting to it, Smriti took to the comment section and wrote, “Fake news!!!”. Fans also reacted and dropped laughing emojis and called it fake.

Anupamaa, the popular Indian TV show, has constantly topped the TRP charts ever since its debut in 2020. The show is currently heading for a 15-year generational leap. The fresh development follows Anupamaa as she embarks on a journey to find her grown-up daughter, Aadhya.

Rupali Ganguly made her Bollywood debut with Angaara in 1996. She shared the screen with National Award-winning actor Mithun Chakraborty. Following this, she worked in multiple movies. But Ganguly achieved fame when she started working in television serials. She has been a part of some of the hit serials on Indian television, such as Sanjivani: A Medical Boon, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, and Aapki Antara to name a few. She became a household name when she essayed the role of Monisha Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai in 2004.

Coming to Smriti Irani, she is well known name in a political world. Recently, she shared a photo with Jaya Bhattacharya, who played Payal role in the show. In the picture shared by Irani, the two were seen sitting in front of an idol of Lord Vishnu, flaunting their brightest smiles. While the politician wore a saree, Jaya opted for a white embroidered kurta for the occasion.
