Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia were rumoured to be in a relationship in the 80s. Reportedly, Sunny and Dimple developed a close bond while working together in films like Aag Ka Gola, Manzil Manzil and Narsimha.

Actress Sujata Mehta, who worked with Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia in the 1993 film Gunaah, has opened up about their love story. In a recent interview, Mehta shared that Deol and Kapadia had a ‘lovely chemistry’ and were ‘destined to be together’.

“I did Gunaah with them. They had a lovely chemistry, and both of them were close to me. There was nothing to hide since we were working together. In our profession, I feel everything is very professional. Sab log apna kaam karte hai, nikalte hai. Gunaah ke set pe jab bhi hum log shoot pe gaye, they had a lovely chemistry on-screen and off-screen. They were destined to be together,” she said while speaking to Siddharth Kannan, as quoted by Free Press Journal.

In the same interview, Sujata also revealed that she was initially cast as the female lead in Rajesh Khanna’s film Jai Jai Shiv Shankar. However, she was later replaced by Dimple Kapadia. She was told that Dimple was replacing her because their children wanted to reunite with their parents following their separation. Ultimately, the film was never released.

For the unversed, Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia were rumoured to be in a relationship in the 80s. Reportedly, Sunny and Dimple developed a close bond while working together in films like Aag Ka Gola, Manzil Manzil and Narsimha. However, the two never confirmed their love relationship in public. It is said that they dated for 11 long years. Sunny Deol’s ex-girlfriend, Amrita Singh had also once confirmed that he was in a relationship with Dimple.

Dimple was previously married to Rajesh Khanna but the two got separated in 1982. Following her separation, Dimple said in an interview, “The life and happiness in our house came to an end and (my) unhappy married life had included inequality and (my) husband’s infidelity called (our) marriage a farce.”
