In the ongoing drugs probe in Sushant Singh Rajput case, the NCB has arrested 20 people so far, including Rhea and Showik Chakraborty. The central agency is also looking into Bollywood-drug nexus.

Sushant Singh Rajput Case LIVE Updates: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday refuted claims about clean chit given to Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and others questioned in connection with a drugs case surrounding the death Sushant Singh Rajput, saying such reports are “devoid” of “truth and facts”.

“The news article mentioning that the drugs law enforcement agency giviing clean chit to those examined by NCB is devoid of the facts and truth,” an official said further adding that the necessary “rebuttal” is being issued to the concerned.

Meanwhile, the Forensic Department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), which has been roped in by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to give a medico-legal opinion in Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, still needs to look into some legal aspects before reaching a “logical legal conclusion”. “AIIMS and CBI are in agreement on the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, but more deliberations are needed. There is a need to look into some legal aspects for a logical legal conclusion,” Sudhir Gupta, Chairman of AIIMS Forensic Medical Board, told IANS. On Wednesday, Sushant’s father KK Singh also met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Patna on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a parallel drugs probe is being conducted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and 20 people have been arrested so far under various charges of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, including Rhea and Showik Chakraborty. Their bail pleas came up for hearing on Tuesday, but the order was reserved by the court. Both siblings have been placed in judicial custody till October 6.

The CBI has registered a case based on the recommendation of the Centre after a request from the Bihar government on a complaint filed by Sushant’s father KK Singh.
