Amidst reports suggesting that the celebrity couple would attend this year’s Met Gala, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have decided to skip the biggest fashion night. The Met Gala 2024 will take place on May 6 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Both Taylor and Travis received individual invites to the event; however, they have now declined it, according to a TMZ report. Earlier, there were hopes that the Fortnight singer could attend the Met Gala. Later, it was dashed away quickly, stating that she had prior work commitments.
According to a People report, Taylor Swift will be “focusing on rehearsals and preparations” ahead of her Eras Tour picking back up this month. While the Met Gala usually takes place on the first Monday of May, this year’s date would be a tight squeeze for the singer.
On the other hand, the reasons behind Travis Kelce’s refusal to attend the event are yet to be known. Notably, the two never shied away from showing off their relationship in public. Earlier, they were pictured together at major events like the Super Bowl and Coachella. But fans are still looking forward to seeing the celebrity couple walk down the red carpet together.
In the meantime, Taylor Swift recently dropped her much-awaited The Tortured Poets Department in April, which received a lot of love from her fans. Kelce has also been doing his best to support his girlfriend. “He knows how much this means to her and thinks she’s extremely talented. Taylor and Travis admire each other’s creative processes and work ethic. They cheer each other on, respect each other’s opinions, and are open and communicative,” stated an Entertainment Tonight report quoting a close source.

The fashion extravaganza will see celebrities coming together to celebrate this year’s new exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, which will feature around 250 items.
The official dress code is themed “The Garden of Time”, drawing inspiration from J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story.
Many, including Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya, Anna Wintour, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and others, will walk down the glamourous red carpet. Among them, Zendaya, Hemsworth, JLo, and Bad Bunny will lead as the four co-chairs of the night.
