Vicky Kaushal was spotted outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in Mumbai, igniting excitement among fans as he gears up for his upcoming film, Love And War, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. This marks the first collaboration between the acclaimed actor and the renowned director, and preparations for the film have been ongoing since earlier this year.
As Vicky stepped out of the director’s office, he sported a casual yet striking look consisting of a black hoodie and track pants, topped off with sunglasses and a cap. Fans couldn’t help but notice that his moustache is reminiscent of his character in Raazi, directed by Meghna Gulzar. This resemblance has sparked speculation about whether he might revive that look in Love And War, especially considering the film’s shared connection with Alia Bhatt, who starred alongside him in Raazi and is set to join the cast of Love And War with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor.

Addressing the swirling rumours, Bhansali clarified that Love And War is not a remake of Raj Kapoor’s classic film Sangam. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said that while he admires Sangam and has drawn inspiration from it for other projects like Dil De Chuke Sanam, this upcoming film is entirely original. “You should not remake Sholay or Mother India. So, why would I remake Sangam?” Bhansali stated, firmly putting the speculation to rest.
He expressed that Love And War holds a unique significance for him. Unlike his previous films, it departs from the traditional elements of period settings, extravagant costumes, and grand sets. “It’s contemporary. The music is different. It’s a new space for me, and I’m enjoying it,” he shared.
Bhansali also praised his leading stars, expressing enthusiasm for working with Alia Bhatt again. “There’s still so much to tap into with Alia. She’s a powerhouse,” he noted. For Vicky Kaushal, this film marks his first venture with the celebrated director.
While Love And War is expected to commence filming later this year, its release has been pushed back to March 2026 from its initial Christmas 2025 date, leaving fans eagerly awaiting what promises to be a cinematic masterpiece.
