Tamil cinema actor Thalapathy Vijay has started his journey in politics as he launched the political party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. In this context, an old speech by the actor Arvind Swami has surfaced on social media. In this video, Arvind is talking about the impact of the journey of actors into politics.

Swami said that he is a big fan of actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Vijay but he will not vote for them. Swami questioned whether the entry of these celebrities into politics is going to bring any change. The Thani Oruvan actor added that if these celebrities promise any sort of change, then he would like to know in detail about those promises. Arvind admitted that actors have good intentions, but doubt remains whether they are capable of ruling countries and realising enormous projects or not. “How can you believe that an actor is qualified to make good govt policies,” Swamy said in the interview.

Vijay has announced that his party would not participate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections but was looking forward to the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. In an official statement, Vijay said the outfit has been registered with the Election Commission of India. “I humbly wish to state that the party’s general council and executive committee have decided neither to contest nor to extend support to any party in the general elections 2024.” As reported by The Times of India, Vijay has stated that the party’s objective is to contest and win the 2026 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Thamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam provided the political change longed for by the people.

Vijay also added that after completing one more project he has signed, he will shift his focus to politics.

Vijay will next act in the film The Greatest of All Time written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Jayaram, Prabhu Deva, Yogi Babu, Kaniha, Mohan and others will also act in this film. As per the report published in the Movie Crow portal, The Greatest of All Time might be based on a plane highjacker named DB Cooper aka Dan Cooper. AGS Entertainment has backed this film.
