What K-Pop Star IU's Mother 'Hates' The Most About Her

The popular South Korean singer IU recently released a special interview on her YouTube channel. This time, the one asking her questions in the interview was none other than her mother. Throughout their conversation, the mother-daughter duo got completely candid and spoke on a range of topics. From honest opinions to their regrets, the conversation was full of revelations. IU’s mother also opened up about the thing that she “hated" the most in her.

In the interview, IU began by asking, “When was the time you hated me the most?" to which her mother didn’t give a clear answer. However, making a guess herself, IU hinted that her honest responses were something that would have caused tension between them. “When I said mean stuff?" she said.

Furthermore, IU’s mother also expressed her biggest concern about her daughter, noting that it arises whenever IU directs her strong personality towards her father.

The soloist hoped on and added that her favourite thing was to make fun of her father. “Beating dad is the most fun," she said.

Her mother also acknowledged that there are no hard feelings between the two and explained that they are just like one another when they make up after a fight.

In the same conversation, the South Korean singer’s mother admitted that she felt sorry for “not passing good genes" to her daughter. “I don’t think I gave you the good genes," she said to which the singer responded with disagreement and explained that she loves her height and does not wish to be any taller.

“That’s not true…you always feel sorry about being short saying, ‘You would’ve been taller if I was just a bit taller than now. If I was taller than I am now, I would be less cute," she said.

The popular R&B singer recently kickstarted her world tour concert H.E.R. with a powerful performance in Seoul. Fans and supporters in large numbers gathered to witness the event.
