When Shah Rukh Khan Introduced Himself To Rajeev Khandelwal At A Party: 'Don't Make Me Feel Sh**ty...'
Rajeev Khandelwal, who debuted with 2008's Aamir, shared a fun story about his first meeting with Bollywood Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan.

Rajeev Khandelwal, who made an entry onto the Bollywood scene with 2008’s Aamir and recently played a fictional Bollywood superstar in Disney+ Hotstar’s 2024 series Showtime, shared a fun story about his first meeting with Bollywood Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar surprised him by walking right up, leaving Rajeev totally starstruck!

In a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Rajeev Khandelwal recalled meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. He mentioned that he was sitting with his leg on the table during their encounter. “Saamne dekha Shah Rukh and Karan (Johar) aa rahe hain, maine pair nichhe kiye ki seniors hain (I saw Shah Rukh Khan walking up towards me with Karan Johar. I put my feet down from the table in respect)” he recalled. When Shah Rukh Khan introduced himself, a suprised Rajeev said, “Ab aap bhi introduce karoge mere ko (Now, you will introduce yourself to me!) Don’t make me feel sh**ty right now.”

Rajeev Khandelwal had a memorable encounter with many Bollywood stars at a centennial celebration for Aviation Minister Praful Patel’s father in Maharashtra. Although he was the only TV actor invited, he went because he was performing. The actor recalled a funny moment when he messed up his performance in front of Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Karan Johar.

During the same interview, Rajeev recalled when he wanted to honour legendary actor Dev Anand and bent down to touch his feet. However, Dev Anand stopped him. Rajeev recalled, “I went to Dev saab and I touched his feet. He stopped me there and asked ‘what are you doing?’ I said ‘sir, you inspire me’. He said ‘if that is the case then I should be touching your feet because youngsters like you inspire me a lot.”

Rajeev Khandelwal, who started his TV journey with Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, quickly rose to fame as the charming heartthrob Sujal Garewal in Ekta Kapoor’s Kahiin To Hoga. Women gushed over him, and over time, his character became the poster boy of romance. However, after a year, he made a bold decision to leave the show and later ventured into non-fiction shows and content-driven films.
