The much talked about Madhubala biopic will reportedly go on floors next year. Buzz is that, filmmaker Jasmeet K Reen has come on board for the same to helm and write the same. Back in 2022, Jasmeet made her directorial debut with the film Darlings that starred Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah and Vijay Verma in the lead roles.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Jasmeet has already begun working on the Madhubala biopic. The film is being backed by Madhubala Ventures Private Limited along with Brewing Thoughts Private Limited. A source close to the development revealed that, “The biopic is currently in the writing stage. There are so many facets in the life of Madhubala and the makers are clear to have a script that justifies her legacy in place before taking the film on floors. Jasmeet has a knack of writing strong characters for women and Madhubala falls right in her alley of filmmaking.”
Madhubala’s biopic will be going on floors next year. Apparently Jasmeet and the producers have started speaking to a leading actress from the current generation. The source added, “It’s a dream role for any actress and will cover several aspects of Madhubala’s life. The makers are committed to go ahead with the best possible story that does full justice to the glorious life of late Madhubala,” and also added that a leading international studio has come on board.
Earlier speaking to ANI, Madhubala’s sister Madhur Bhushan revealed that making a biopic of her loved sister is her “long-standing dream”. She further revealed that while the late actress had a short-lived life but her life is worth every moment. She told the news agency, “All my sisters and I have joined hands to make this dream come true. With God’s blessings and the dedication of my partners – Arvindji, Prashant and Vinay, I am confident that this biopic will be made successfully on a grand level. We need everyone’s blessings to put together this project beautifully.”
