Big Reveal! Richa Chadha And Ali Fazal Have Been Legally Married for 2.5 Years

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who are celebrating their wedding in Bollywood style, are already ‘legally married’ for over two years. Yes, you read that right! The spokesperson of the actors revealed that Richa and Ali formalised their union two years ago and are now celebrating it with their friends and family.

It was due to the COVID-19 pandemic that the couple’s plans for a grand wedding were postponed. “This is to clarify that Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal have been legally married for 2.5 years when they registered their wedding. Currently, they are celebrating their union with friends and family, as was already mentioned by them on 29th September in their statement. They have hosted their wedding receptions and parties in Delhi and Lucknow and are now doing a final event with a reception tonight in Mumbai," the statement issued by Richa and Ali’s spokesperson read.

Richa and Ali started dating in 2015 but officially confirmed their relationship status in 2017 with a selfie saying: “Hai toh hai."

Last week, on September 29, the duo issued an audio recording on their social media handles sharing about how they ‘formalised their union’ in 2020 but had to wait to celebrate it due to the pandemic. In the note, Ali added, “Like the rest of the nation, we too were struck by personal tragedies one after the other."

The couple further shared, “And now, as we all enjoy this window of respite, we are finally celebrating with our families and friends. We are so so very touched and blessed by the love and blessings coming our way."

Soon after, fans and friends from the industry showered good wishes and blessings on the couple.

Videos and pictures from their celebrations have dominated social media platforms and fans are absolutely in awe. The couple has already hosted their reception in Delhi and Lucknow and today, i.e. on Tuesday they will be welcoming their friends and family members in a grand celebration in Mumbai. Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, Sanjay Dutt, Taapsee Pannu and many others are expected to join them.
