Season 8 of Koffee With Karan opened up to a controversial start. Karan Johar seemingly whipped up a whirlwind with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as the first guests on the couch. While the netizens are reeling with the aftermath, the promo of the next episode is out and it brings together Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. While there are many interesting aspects to the promo, one where Karan Johar asks Sunny about his ‘Teddy Fetish’, has caught the fancy of everyone.

Towards the end of the promo, Karan Johar puts Sunny Deol in the spotlight by revealing one of the secrets that is ironic to the rugged and macho personality. The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director can be heard saying, “Who would know that a man who could destroy a country with a hand pump could actually be into teddy bears!”

While we await the full details on that, the promo was packed with other interesting glimpses. In the promo, we see Karan Johar introducing the legacy movie stars Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol as ‘unapologetic and unassuming’. Karan Johar gives a standing ovation to both the brothers and then pops the question to Sunny Deol, about his statement on Gadar 2 box office collection that were labelled as ‘organic’. He quizzes Sunny, “Are we inflating box office numbers?” To this, Sunny promptly replies, “That does happen. That’s the way society is moving right now.” Karan Johar asks him again, “Is that why the tagline of Gadar 2 was Hindustan ka asli blockbuster?”

Some other glimpses from the promo had Bobby Deol recalling the tough phase in his career and the advice that Salman Khan gave to him, “One day Salman told me, jab mera career theek nahi chal raha tha, tab tere Bhai ke peeth pe chadh gaya tha aur aage badha. Toh maine usko bola, toh mujhe apni peeth pe chadhne de na.”

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol appeared on Karan Johar’s couch back in the first season of KJo’s show back in 2005. Reportedly, the theme of this year’s ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8’ is family members. Hence, most of the pairings are being made keeping that in mind.
