Earlier this year, Karan Johar was upset with Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi starrer Merry Christmas clashing with Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha. He penned a cryptic note expressing his displeasure of films announcing a clashing release date without informing in advance. “Clashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers… If we don’t stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile,” Karan Johar wrote.

Yodha stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in lead roles. The film is touted to be one of a kind action entertainer. Animal, on the other hand, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. Animal marks Ranbir’s second release of the year, after Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, and Sandeep’s second Bollywood film after Kabir Singh.
