Season 8 of Koffee With Karan opened up to a controversial start. Karan Johar seemingly whipped up a whirlwind with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as the first guests on the couch. While the netizens are reeling with the aftermath, the promo of the next episode is out and it brings together Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. While there are many interesting aspects to the promo, one where Sunny Deol reveals his reaction to Dharmendra kissing Shabana Azmi is going viral.
In the promo, we see Karan Johar introducing the legacy movie stars Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol as ‘unapologetic and unassuming’. Karan Johar gives a standing ovation to both the brothers and then quizzes them, “Why your father is being so chaalu?” Bobby says with laughter, “I don’t know.” He adds, “Your film Rocky Aur Rani, I loved the film. Humlog mazaak karte rehte hai ki Pappa kiss wiss bhi kar rahe the lekin sab log bolte hai he is so cute.”
To this, Karan Johar asks, “What was your reaction when you heard about the kiss or saw the kiss?” Sunny Deol responds, “Dad can do whatever he likes and he can get away with it.”
Among all the iconic scenes in the film RRKPK, one where Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi share a kiss was highly discussed. THE veteran actor has recently come forward to compare his on-screen kiss with his grandson’s debut performance in Dono.
The 87-years old legendary actor caught up with the media at a Durga Puja pandal where he expressed, “Films are our medium to connect with the audience. I choose roles that resonate with my heart when they come my way. I don’t know how many kisses my grandson did in his film, mere ek kiss ka shor hogaeya (my one kiss created so much noise),” as quote by the Indian Express.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol appeared on Karan Johar’s couch back in the first season of KJo’s show back in 2005. Reportedly, the theme of this year’s ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8’ is family members. Hence, most of the pairings are being made keeping that in mind.
