Thalapathy Vijay’s action film Leo has created a lot of buzz. Fans’ wait has finally come to an end as the action drama is finally in theatres. The makers have recently opened the advance booking which has also created excitement. The film’s pre-sales have earned Rs 200 crore which means it has surpassed Rajinikanth’s Jailer.
Pinkvilla report says the film has registered advance bookings of Rs 107 crores gross for the weekend and Rs 114 crores gross overall, in India. Upon that, Leo has also amassed 10 million dollars (83 crores) in pre-sales internationally, to take its total tally to Rs 190 crores for the weekend and Rs 198 crores overall. By the start of the first show, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial will fancy its chances to hit Rs 200 crores. By comparison, Sacnilk had reported that Rajinikanth’s Jailer did advance business of around Rs 18 crore.
Fans have already declared it a blockbuster. Amid all this, several inside videos from theatres are also going viral now in which Vijay’s fans can be seen dancing, screaming and cheering out loud as they watch their favourite actor on screen.
Microblogging site X is flooded with netizens praising Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial. Leo is an action thriller which also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Priya Anand in pivotal roles. The film also features Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy co-wrote the script with Lokesh Kanagaraj. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and its cinematography and editing have been handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and Philomin Raj, respectively.
While the film was allowed early morning shows in several states including Kerala and Karnataka, it should be noted that in Tamil Nadu, the first show of Leo will begin only at 9am.
